ENEX 7.2 Mobile Fall Restraint Unit
The ENEX 7.2 Mobile Fall Restraint Unit (MFRU) is a mobile safety device for personnel working at heights where it is difficult to provide suitable handrailing, scaffolding or other standard safety equipment to prevent an operator/worker (145kg max) falling while carrying out their tasks.
The MFRU has a boom that is height adjustable up to 7.2m above ground level and is fitted to a mast which rotates 360 degrees to access parts of machinery and plant where it would otherwise be difficult, dangerous or detrimental to the equipment, to attach personnel safety harness connection points. The MFRU is mobile and can be moved between equipment/plant, manually or with a fork hoist.
Once the MFRU is in position, counterweights are applied to the base of the unit as required for the boom position. The mast and boom are locked into position and the operator/worker is connected to the boom end using a self-retracting lifeline or personal fall arrest unit. Once connected, the operator can carry out their task securely and safely The MFRU is effectively a secure, independent anchor point for a "personal fall arrest system" attached worker/operator to prevent them from falling while undertaking their work.
